The entire congress went on their 5 week vacation.
Yup. The Dem leadership called for it.
And the Republicans are still there? Um, nope...
Of course they aren't. Pelosi and Reed sent everyone on vacation.
Think they'd be ****ed if Bush called for an emergency session -
which, as president, is his right? Think they would pass a bill to
get more oil instead of squeezing us?
I imagine the entire Congress would tell him to go pound sand.
Can't. If he calls for an emergency session, they must convene.
And I rather
suspect the Congress is smart enough to realize they can't "pass a bill to get
more oil", and that most people are smart enough to realize Congress isn't
responsible for the price of oil in the first place.
No, but they can lift the restriction for drilling off our continental
shelf, exactly where China and others are now setting up to drill
As for "we suffer with high gas prices", you've never lost an opportunity to
tell everyone here how wealthy you think you are, so should you really be
including yourself in that "we"?
Hahahahahahahaha. Yeah, but if hate was a commodity, you'd be the
richest man in Massachusetts. Along with being the 2nd cheapest -
your buddy Kerry is first. d;o)
So, that's the best you can do with that question? Call me a hater? Call me
cheap? That's nice work you're doing. Hope you're proud of it.
Dave, you do hate. Your hate for Bush and all Republicans has taken a
toll on you. You have changed. I've never seen anyone more obsessed
with his hatred of something. Cheap? That's a given.
Assuming you're one of the morons who thinks we should immediately allow the
oil companies to drill in environmentally sensitive areas that are currently
off-limits, do you really think that will change the price of oil today?
If so, please explain as best as you can why that would be? That ought to be
good for a laugh or two.
Yeah, the morons from China are planning to drill in the waters off of
the Florida Keys.
And?
Ya wanna bet if Congress ok'd drilling off the
continental shelf that the price of a barrel of oil would immediately
drop?
Seems to me *you* are the moron who actually believes it would. And I'm still
waiting for you to explain why that would happen.
And while you're at it, explain why the domestic oil companies actually would
want the price of oil to go down? And why they haven't been drilling in the
tens of millions of acres that they already hold leases on - including areas
off the coast?
"Environmentally sensitive areas?" Yeah, the north coast of
Alaska was the same thing back 30 years ago, and the environment
hasn't suffered one bit.
Apparently, you had your head buried up your ass even back then (why does that
not surprise me?) and totally missed what happened along the Alaskan coast.
Not to mention what happened along the Californian coast - repeatedly.
Apparently, you don't give a crap about environmental consequences, period.
The Alaskan spill had nothing to do with the drilling or the piping of
oil. It was an ill designed tanker with a drunk captain. Right now,
oil is the only solution. Corn oil? Requires too much water to
refine in great amounts, or so I hear. Electric cars? How are we to
produce enough electricity to charge their batteries if we all have
electric cars? Wind power? All for it, except our two Dem Senators
squashed use of it because it would spoil *their* view from their
summer homes on the Vineyard. Nuclear power? All for it. France
gets most of its energy from nuclear power plants. Congress would
never allow another one in the US.
Where they want to drill in ANWR is but a
stone's throw from where they are now drilling.
And?
You better hope Obama doesn't win, 'cause it is gonna cost you dearly to heat your home
during those wonderfully cold NE winters. d;o)
I'll deal with it, and without whining about the price like you, and without
the delusion that McSame would have done anything about oil prices. Unlike
you, I am most concerned about the good of the country, and not my wallet.
Sure you are, David. Keep on believing that. You have given sooooo
much for your country.
Dave (the rich one who isn't a dope head)
ahahahahahaha! In spite of having given it up over a year ago, I gladly will
wear that moniker, if only because it separates me from mindless assholes like
you...
Sure you have, David. Keep on believing that. It is your escape from
reality, Daivd. You could never give it up, well, unless it became so
expensive.
