I ended up getting a Lowrance 522C iGPS.

I will hook it up soon and try it out on the lake.
So far I just hooked up a little gel cell and messed with the settings.
So far so good.

Seriously considering the Lowrance X510C or X515C but some reviews
question their reliability.

Will I regret not getting a unit with GPS?

I have had good luck with Garmin, but in your price range you should be
able to get a nice GPS/Map and FF.

I think I might be more interested in spending some extra cash on the
Crumingbird 3d imaging side finder. I don't like the way Crumingbird
does business, that's an awfully cool setup.
