Yes, self guided.

I used a 7 wt. to toss the mouse, which is not very aerodynamic. :-) You
can really hear that MF whiz by your ear.

My successful mouse pattern was made of spun deer hair clipped flat on
the top and the bottom, with a black foam top for flotation and a rabbit
strip tail.

There were two ways they worked for me:

1. Rainbows like cover, and the biggest ones have the best cover. If you
cast the mouse into cover in good holding water you're likely to get a
strike.

2. At night, especially. the rainbows cruise the runs. Casting a mouse
across the current, mending upstream, and stripping and mending as
though it's trying to get to the bank produced for me. They typically
hit right against the bank.
