Did you see any Olives? What dries were working for you?

We were too close to the dam to see any olives. We heard they were
hatching down by Baetis Bend and below the Texas Hole. But we were way
up in the midge waters.

Griffith's gnats were good if you could pick your fly out from the
naturals. There were a lot of naturals and the light was real flat, so
picking yours out from the crowd was pretty tough. Small parachute
adams with a little of the tail cut off were working OK. Mike had some
fly he had tied that looked a lot like a Griffith's gnat with a little
white post sticking up that he could see - that was the best fly because
you had a chance of telling if the tack was your fly or a natural right
next to it.

We were also floating the flies down to the fish from above, on 6x
tippet. I tried fishing a few of the fish from below with 7x, but that
just wasn't working.

See ya in a few weeks.

Looking forward to it.
