Default Way OT (And not Election-Related, Either) Recent Chernobyl Photo Essay

The original was better ;-) A few years ago this person's trip through
Chernobyl land got quite a bit of emailing around (enough to get a web
domain, I guess):

I've been interested in the aftermath of Chernobyl since I first saw the
"kid of speed" essay a few years ago. You're quite correct that hers is much
more interesting (and in-depth), but for some reason, the more recent pics
reinforced the eerieness of the area. It's the whole ghost town thing, I
suppose -- life just stopped happening here. Unlike the abandoned towns of,
for example, the gold rush era or the Route 66 era in the US, in the
Chernobyl area, life literally stopped.
