Oops, nope. He did get the page drunk and have sex with him. But it
wasn't "rape" in the criminal sense. OTOH, it certainly was conduct
that should have garnered much more than a "naughty boy" from the House.
If it were today and a Republican Congressman did the same thing with a
female page, I'd bet _BIG_ that you'd in with other "liberals" yelling
and screaming about what a scumbag he was, suggesting it was "rape" or
nearly so. Gerry Studds was a sorry piece of **** and embarrassment to
Congress, but, at least as far as is publicly known, he wasn't a rapist.
