The real story is to many farmers farmed land where there is not
enough water to support the farming. The farmers demanded more water
from klamath Lake. The water in the lake is vital to the Klamath
Sucker, a fish important to the culture of the Klamath Tribe.
Of course it's all non political, but the farmers are republicans and
the indians democrats ( if they vote at all).
