I learned a lot about Beavers this summer as I fished Poindexter Slough.
It is a lovely spring creeky few miles of water that is suffering badly from
the effects of their damn damming ( and dewatering and ag- silt from locals
that don't give a **** ). * *In an area with the Beaverhead bringing in
billions of anglers to play bumper boat fly fishers and the Big Hole doing
likewise, Poindexter seems to have few local friends even though it has the
potential to equal Silver Creek or the Paradise Valley creeks in quality. *I
tried to get the local fly shops interested in starting a "Friends of
Poindexter" organization, would do so myself if I felt I could effectively
from such a distance.

TIE more flies with Beaver fur ... buy the fur from Dillion, Mt. trappers

A good friend of mine in MA spends a few weeks each year fishing
Poindexter. He began fishing it with his father many years ago. I have
seen many pictures, and it looks like a great place to fish. He has
mentioned the problems there as well. His first name is Marty, in case
you might have run into him.
