Hi,
Sportfish UK has a clearance sale - Guideline Alpha rods *rods are reduced
from 126 GBP to 25 GBP. I have bought a 5-6 wt for myself and a 7-8 wt for
my son (he is a salt-water FFer). Just wondering if anyone has experience of
these rods - they look good and feel fine - light, fast action but I have
not tried it with a line yet.

Thanks,

Gordon

I have a Guideline Pro 6-7 weight (2-piece). It was my first rod,
bought about 8-10 years ago in northen Sweden as an intermediate-level
utility rod, and its never given me any trouble. I've used it for
sal****er, freshwater, big streams and creeks. It can load up a line
and throw a long cast, and is long enough for short deaddrifts.

Perhaps the only downside I have about it is that its a 2-piece, so
it's hard to travel with. But the quality of the wraps, the finish,
the cork, the locking rings.....everything about it is excellent
quality and has served me well. No complaints at all.
