F and F didn't make the loans nor did they set the criteria for the
loans. The private lenders did. F and F bought the loans and kept
buying them.

Additionally...they weren't 'bad loans' when they were bought, nor
were they 'bad loans' when they were made. They became bad loans when
the market forces turned south and the lower echelon of folks who were
pursing the american dream were unable or unwilling to make their
payments, and defaulted. That they overpaid for those properties in
the first place is hardly their fault....blame the people who ran up
property values in the first place. I think any one of them would have
gladly paid less for their property when they bought it.
