I don't follow the rising stars in the GOP, so I don't know if the
hype over Jindal is justified or lipstick on a pig (to coin a
phrase). His speech Tuesday was poorly conceived and not terribly
well presented; but nothing about it gave me the impression that
Jindal was necessarily unintelligent. Kinda goofy and obviously
willing to sell talking points in lieu of actual facts, but not
stupid. I kept remarking to SWMBO, "Wow, this guy is awful;" but at
least he's on the radar screen. (Jeez, I can't believe we're even
speculating about '12 already, but I don't see Palin even lasting past
breakfast in the primaries.)
