Default Thingabobbers

Over on Westfly, even folks who normally despise indicators are grudgingly
saying these things are not as bad as, oh, say, child abuse or global
warming or Matthew McConaughey movies.....

Any opinions?

I think MY opinion of indicators is probably well enough know here

thingabobbers are what I now use ... and have for a full season (except
for a smear of the paste type stuff I sometimes use midge pupa fishing on
flat water in a glare)

I find them MORE baitfish bobber-like, certainly in appearance, and can't
understand how they would remove any of the stigma of Bobbercating from that
vile pursuit G

BUT. if you are going to the dark side, might as well go easy

being hollow they float, they are easy on, easy off, and stay put .... but,
I add an extra loop, sometimes .... visualize starting with a loop to
loop-like connection ... i.e. thread a doubled piece of your leader through
the hole ... but instead of just that pull enough through that you can then
throw the first half of a Clove Hitch over the whole ball, THEN the loop
right where it's doubled ... slip it all up tight around the stem and it's
NOT going to move, but WILL come off with only some memory bendies in the
leader left behind

Larry L ( who notes that they are available at all shops in the West now, so
you don't HAVE to support a biz that supported Bush/ Cheney :-)

PS they developed from the practice of using very, very small balloons
with a puff of air in them, as indicators ... try it sometime
