I very much agree with Scott's recomendation, but I don't
believe that you can count on a faster startup.
....as I mentioned before, I formatted the HD and then did the install.
Everything went swimmingly, not a hitch anywhere. Installed my new Canon
flatbed scanner today, ditto, just like it's supposed to and works great.
After doing some tweaking (thanks to Flyfish's URL) it still runs fine but
I can say without a doubt it boots slower than W98...I can live with that
if it continues to run as it has since installation, especially since it
will rarely be turned off.
