...always a joy to read your gifts to this group...and, to share in your
family and fishing adventures. *thanks...
can't believe that's mason...i remember him as a sleepy toddler carried by
jacci when we first met at a restaurant in merrill during wolfgang's
traveling trout carnivale. that was a great trip, and good fishing memory.
...and the chocolate chip pancake place!!
next time, try the little river at elkmont...i've been in that area of
tennessee exactly as often as you, but i liked that stream in the park. as
in your area, in the smokies, the more remote stretches of water you can
find, the better the fishing will be as a general rule. the little river
sees a goodly number of folks, but it is easy to access and yielded a lot
of nice, strong fish when wolfgang, conan the libraryguy, and i fished it
a few years ago. *also, it sounds like you were near danl's southern
quarters not far from knoxville...he's as good a guide as you'll find in
that area. you should send him a note before your next visit.

Jeff, I've camped at Elkmont and waited until the mothers called their
children to supper. And right there in the campground, 10 0r 15 minutes
after the kids leave the water....I've had to use my net...
When I was camped there two years ago, I caught the biggest fish of
my trip not more than a medium cast's distance from my campsite. Wolf
was there to witness it (hell, I caught on his fly rod with a Pass
Lake on the end of the tippet), and supposedly he even got a picture
or two.
