I'm sure Larry will hit the streams with me again, as he was like a
kid in a
candy store, once he began catchin' trout. I just love bringing joy
to very
large people, who could break me in half and squash me like a bug.
Unfortunately, Bear was so embarassed by my performance, he may never
be seen woth me again, much less go fishin' with me! All in
all, we had a blast and onle got rained on as we walked the trail out.
Bear
was a very tired hound, by the time he got back to mother's place and
headed
straight for his food bowl, after his obligatory end of the fishin'
day
hotdog and cheese slice.

Opie --if anyone wants to pressure Larry into buying the necessary
accoutrements to become my next to bestest fishin' buddy, I will
gladly send
them his personal cell#--

Thanks for the TR sounds like fun and better than a political post any day

I have a friend like Larry who also cannot afford the gear- Lynn
I do not have waders to loan him - Rod and vest yes. I even have an extra
hemostat and clippers
So I told him that startup min is $150- $160

Waders - $85 on sale at a local store
Wading Shoes 45 to $50 - Hogmans will last a couiple of yrs
License $20 plus

Unless he buys this he cannot go and he will not be going to Rock Creek w us

Too bad
I told him that an entry rod and reel is about $200 min -
TFO rod and some inexpensive reel (Cortland) - tho I have an old Battenkill
I would let him use

Luckily I have few other human fishing friends and several canine friends
but I leave them at home (3)

Here's a link to a Ross starter fly fishing setup at Sierra Trading
Post. If the guy signs up for theirDeal Flyer he'll probably get an
"e-coupon" for 20% off within a week or two.

Or he could go all L.L. Bean and get waders and fly rod/reel/line for
lesss than $200.

OTOH, taking a noob on a fly fishing trip is a full time job. Not an
unpleasant one if you like that sort of thing, but a job all the same.
