Default TR--Tulpehocken Creek,PA

Well, what would May trout fishing in PA be like without a little rain? With
that thought in mind, I headed out this morning for the Tulpehocken, which
looked yesterday to be at a perfect, fishable level. It still was, when I
arrived there at 8:30 am. Some tan caddis, midges and yellow craneflies in
the air, no rises. The rain had held off, and a pair of tan wet flies
yielded a quick brown, holding behind a rock no more than 15 feet from my
position. After this hopeful start, it was slow fishing with ever more
frequent bursts of showers, followed by flat-out rain by midday.
I found one more slow-witted trout willing to take a wet, but that was it.
Despite the crap weather, at least 20 other guys were working the creek over
the 3 miles I explored.
Still, getting out and getting soaked was vastly preferable to staying home
and watching TV.
