best waders??
From: steve sullivan
I'll start off.....you'll likely get many more opinions.
Right now I have red ball non breathable bootfoots. I want to get the
most comfortable warm waders possible.
Breathable waders, generally, are not warm, but they usually fit loosely
enough, (hint, buy one size larger for cold weather use), to allow the layering
of thermal underwear and fleece that will keep you toasty in cold waether.
I have never worn stockingfoots, what is the
difference between stockingfoot and bootfoot practically speaking and
comfortwise?
IMO, stokingfoot waders are an order of magnitude more comfy than bootfoot
models, offer greater ankle support if you buy good wading shoes, and, once
again, you can purchase an oversize pair of shoes to allow wearing thermal
socks in cold weather.
What are other waders that are gortex and comparable in quality?
There are a number of quality waders on the market. Simms has a very good
reputation. I have been happy with Orvis for several years.
