that's a short rod...what weight are you looking for? how much do you
want to spend? where will you be fishing and for what?

What about a "combo rod" - the spinning/fly rod combos, or, simply building a
short, light spinning rod blank as a fly rod? It's not like you're gonna be
casting very far, so if it'll get a 3-5 wt DT out about 20-30 feet and roll
cast, it seem like it would work fine (and about any rod or part thereof can do
that). While there are "commercial" 6ish-foot 4-5 wts out there, there aren't
many, and I'm not sure they'd be any better for your purpose...for example, a
Payne 96 - 6'6" and about a modern 4 - should only run about 5K, if you want to
go that route...
