In is upcoming book, Tom Ridge, the head of the Department of Homeland
Security under President Bush, writes that he was pressured to raise the
"terror alert" to help Bush win re-election in 2004.

That this happened was obvious at the time to anyone with any sense, but
now it's confirmed.

It amounts to treason.

BTW, Ridge is a jerk. He should have resigned at the time instead of
