Yeah. I have avoided it for 72 years. But not now. The more I see of
where we are going as a country, the more guns/ammo I buy. I'm old, Tom.
Only have a few years left. (I can still fish, however, and will until I

But, in the meantime, a gated community makes
alot of sense when you have valuables in your winter home and you are not
there for 6 months out of the year. No way anyone could get to the home,
never mind breaking in and absconding with stuff. We are SAFE there.

Huh? Virginia? Shore? Shifty crowd? What the hell are you talking
about. Ahhhh, you must have a second home on the VA shore, right? Duh
is me. Looked at some places in Delaware. Almost bought on the shore,
but the mountains and winter trout fishing won over.

FWIW, it's a beautiful home, and the fact that it is in a gated
community with swimming pool, tennis, gym, two small lakes, etc. is
only a plus. It would have to be gated to keep people out of the pool
and other facilities. No big deal, really. But, we feel safe there,
safer than here.

sure it's gated to keep _them_ OUT and not _you_ IN...? I mean, some klutzy old
dude with an arsenal, designer rubber britches, and a tattoo of Bush on his
chest (right over his heart, God love him...), waving a Drambuie bottle and a
bank statement out of the sunroof of a German car with a US flag painted on the
hood and "**** Regular Unleaded" painted on the trunk, carrying around pictures
of Obama photoshopped into Che Karl Hitler might not be what the community in
general wants running around loose and all...

said, "No Solicitors, Democrats, or Burglars" in your yard and one that said
"White Republicans Only" at the pool...?
