Default Slough Creek

Just north of the Park boundary there is a meadow on public land
near the confluence where Wolverine Creek dumps into Slough Creek.
It is a very nice meadow with a campsite big enough for a 'Clave.
I know an outfitter who will do a drop camp on that campsite. The
outfitter will pack in with horses and mules all the tents, cots,
dining flies, food, beer and kitchen gear and set it all up. The
'Clavers could then hike in from the Park side. Folks could also
ride horses from the Cooke City side with the outfitter if they'd
rather ride than hike.

Just tossing out an idea. But it's not too early to make reservations
for such a trip in August 2010.

How far to Fawn Lake?

You really don't want to have a western 'Clave at Fawn Lake because
there is no Fawn Lake.

I've tossed out Slough Creek and the Thorofare, do you have anything
to contribute other than smartass nastiness ?

So far as I'm concerned West Yellowstone is toxic. I wouldn't spend
a dime of my money in that ********. But West Yellowstone aside, if
you only have a week or two to experience the best trout fishing in
North America during late July, early August you could do a whole
lot worse than the Greater Yellowstone area.
