I thought the video clip was pretty funny.
I'm glad - I thought it was pretty funny, too. And for the record, I had
nothing to do with its production, distribution, etc., nor do I know anything
about it other than the info on youtube about it - the link was coincidentally
sent to me with a variety of similar videos a couple of weeks ago "Olympic
humor." I deleted the email with links, but there were 2-3 more "humorous"
biathlon videos - I'm sure a more thorough search on youtube than I did would
locate them.
Biathlon looks like a cool sport to me.
It is different, that's for sure. I don't know where I heard it, but I recently
heard that it is the most "drugged" event of all Olympic sports (insofar as the
number of competitors that are "on" something or a variety of somethings, "sport
legal" and otherwise - not only for "performance" in the skiing, but to keep the
heart rate down when shooting). Don't know if that is true, but it seems at
least possible.
I also like the Nordic Combined
events. Too bad that we (in the US) only get to see these sports every
four years.
There's always things like the X Games, etc. My extreme skiing days are over
(among the variety of things that contributed to various bodily injuries, but
you're right - it is a rush.
