Default TR - 'blind' fishing today in Ca

I got out a bit today, not far at all from my home, but still out

I fished here ...notice the historic covered bridge ... 1862, I
believe

and hooked a few small trout during a brief baetis hatch. Being an
idiot, I had left both my "fishing sun glasses" and my HatEye cheaters
mounted on a Tilley hat in the truck. Trust me tying on #20 flies
when you can barely see the fly let alone the eye of it is a real
challenge G The reason I left them was because I read this
morning that most of us don't get anywhere near enough Vitamin D, what
with sitting inside in front of monitors and using sun screen. So I
elected to wear a ball cap to get more sun. My normal routine
includes breaking out the Tilley and my special bifocal specs from the
same stash of fishing stuff. Conclusion ... reading may be bad for
fly fishing !!!

I also explored another stretch of water and passed this on the way

This section looks completely different doesn't it

but the two areas are very close together, right where foothill
becomes valley and I parked between them, only a short walk from both

whole hillsides were covered with popping poppies and other Spring
blooms ... I picked a close view of the state flower for this
