Actually Frank, my son and I were leaving to drive over to the coast from
the Coast Guard base where he's stationed, and just do a little sight-
seeing. I halfway missed the last step on the stairs leading to the
parking lot and went down like a ton of bricks. He thought I'd had
another heart attack and I couldn't speak at that moment after having the
breath knocked out of me. We eventually got it sorted out and made it to
the Petaluma Hospital emergency room. Turns out later that along with the
ankle being fractured, landing on my right arm across my chest fractured
a rib as well.
A side note, LCDR Robert Church retires with 20 yrs active duty from the
US Navy. Very proud dad here and wonder where the hell the last 20 years
went?
