A minor point, but Red Bands are a subspecies of Rainbow found in the
intermountain West and are not Cutthroat, though Lahontan Cutthroat
are native to that general area.

Not being a biologist, I cannot dispute your point, but the local F&G
folks tell me these are genuine cutthroat trout, not related to the
redbands found over in the Pyramid Lake and a couple other desert
areas.

....but they tasted good.

....and I have, years ago, gotten many Lahontan cutts in scabland ponds
in WA
