Been making cider and digging garlic and being too overly pridefull of
our Jersey style sweet corn so needed a brake and needed to wet a line
so . . . We went up to Point No-Point yesterday and had a go for
Silvers (Coho) in the salt. Me, Swimbo and friend.
Beautiful day, with lots of boats and ships on the Sound. A few Gear
boys on the tip but wide open on the flanks. The right side of the
point is steep right away, and the waves can easily knock you off your
feet and one roller did later in the day. Used some standards, Coho
fly, etc. No takes.
Worked around point over an hour or so onto the roily flan on the SE
side of the point. Surf still up and needed to keep cognizant of the
waves developing 1/4th mile or so out. No knock downs here however.
Changed flys to smaller stuff and coneheads. Giving my 9' a good
workout and switching to coneheads, maybe some cutts will take pity.
No dice. Damn OK we NEED to CATCH SOMETHING. And did. Bullheads on a
stimy w/ splitshot. Oh well Father Murphy, how many Hail Marys for
each one did you say?
Fun day, anyway and in any case the dogs wrestled themselves silly and
the chicken salad w/apple was lovely.
Maybe Ill do better on Agate Pass or possibly Rich Passage later this
week.

Do you ever get to the south end of the Sound ?
Mouth of the Nisqually was always my best bet for sea-run cutts.
cheers
