Yeah, I could just Google ... but maybe I can wake up a lurker

Looks like I'm likely to be going to Phoenix, Az *area on a fairly
regular basis over the next few years.

Are there places near-by for trout fly fishing? * warm water?

I would like to add another question: Anyone know of a good fly
fishing shop in Phoenix?
I'm going there on a business trip in 4 weeks time, and thought I'd
buy an extra pair of Simms waders.

I saw this as I was looking around .... I have zero experience with
the place and Tempe is a Phoenix suburb, I believe ... where *ASU is
located

Good find! Roger, where in Phoenix will you be? Is a pretty spread-out
city, and this shop is in Tempe (pronounced tem-PEE for when you tell
the cabbie), which is SE of the airport and city center.

If you want to find a good supply of outdoor gear for a good price
(tents, etc), then the Bass Pro shop is only a couple of km further
east from the Tempe fly shop. Mesa is the next neighborhood east of
Tempe.

Well, I plan on staying an extra day and having a look around. I'm
meeting with a couple of guys that work for Intel, where exactly
remains to be seen.

You do know that another ROFFian is a rather senior engineer for
Intel?

I didn't, but found him on FB. Interesting!
My work is no longer about what I know (began with a MSc Engineering
Physics), but instead whom I know. This probably being true for many
more reading this newsgroup. The sad fact about climbing the so called
"value chain" is that one becomes more and more detached from what
initially was what one wanted work with (and probably was interested
in). That and the fact that free time is becoming more and more
scarce.
This said, if I just could find more business associates that indulge
in fly-fishing all would be well ;-)
