FYI - Flat Laurel does not = Native brookies. These are all northern hatchery strain brookies. Wild yes but native no. Absolutely one of my favorites though. Scaling down Flat Laurel into the West Fork of the Pigeon Gorge from Black Balsam is treacherous but so worth it. Ninja fishing at its best. The fish are small but full of color. Water is crystal clear.
