Thanks Joe. *I have several bass spots near me (central Mississippi)
with some fairly large fish. *I also have family near the coast and
thought a 7wt might work for some sal****er fishing as well.

After reading a bit, I do think an 8 wt is a bit too much.

I regularly (when I'm in the region) fish for pretty big LMB (4-5 lb
range) with my 5wt. Its a bit undergunned for the big ones, so yeah I
agree with a 6wt, for the most part. But my smallest sal****er rod
would be too big for a freshwater bass rod...I'd suggest a 5 or 6 wt
for Bass, and an 8 wt for salt water. If you try to get 'one rod fits
all', you'll have 'no rod fits either'.
