One of the signs of being either much older than I thought or more
distracted than I noticed, is that I will occasionally find something,
grab it in one hand, or put it on in the case of glasses or hats, and
then go on looking.

i don't know how many times on a golf course i have turned in circles,
bellowing, dammit, i have lost my putter! where the hell is my putter?
then, to my fellow players great delight, someone says--it's in your hand,
you damned fool!
i don't know how many times--i just wish it were a helluva lot fewer.
