I'm very familiar with both of the Avid rods, and
they're quite nice, especially for the price.
Which one is right for you? It depends upon which
action and length you prefer.

Im actually wanting a 9' rod. Im wanting to replace a Wally Marshal 9'
"pro series" crappie rod, that I basically use all the time, with what
I'll call a high-end rod. One that is lighter better balanced and
hopefully more sensitive.
I have St croix legend elite lec9hf2,it weigh 6.1 oz i think ,it is so light and so sensitive and has a strong back bone.Casting is dead accurate ,love this rod.The only problem is my wife loves it too and she can cast it all day and never get tired.
This is why Im looking for Loomis weight listings to compare.
I fish from the bank and lots of bushes to reach over at the good spots
the length really helps. Plus the bass, catfish mostly stay under 20"
most around 15" and its real fun using the light set-up.
I see St Croix has Salmon/Steelhead Rods in the length Im looking at
anyone have experience with those. Do these types of rods have/need to
be really sensitive?
