I have always wished I had a collection of the most ridiculous signs I

ever seen. Among them:

--a beautiful, hand-carved wooden sign in rural Maine, obviously a labor
of
love that took a long, careful time to do, advertising "Fishing Lisenses".
--a nicely painted sign for a signpainter, which said "J. Crawford,
Signpianter"
--in Accra, Ghana, where everything is referenced to the bible: "Holy of
Holies Radiator Service"

and my favorite, outside a ritzy restaurant in Riga, Latvia: "Tonights
special: roasted chicken spit"

The bars in Taipei in 1969 had urinals with normal water valves instead of
the flushing mechanisms we have here. Actual sign I saw the "To stop
drip turn cock to right"
