Went to Heaven on Seven yesterday for lunch right before we drove home.

Never heard of it.

Small place on the, you guessed it, 7th floor of the Garland Building

Never heard of it.

in Chicago's Loop.

O.k., that's got a familiar ring.

The owner/chefs are third generation Greek coffee
shop owners turned Cajun fanatics.

No ****? Genuine third generation Greek coffee shop owner Cajuns? Well,
damn, trumped again! I gotta admit you don't see all that many genuine
third generation Greek coffee shop owner Cajuns running four star
restaurants in the upper midwest anymore.....not THESE days!

I had the Mardi Gras Etouffee which
was the Etouffee of the Day yesterday. It came with the Gumbo.

Etouffee of the day? What the hell is that? Everybody who understands food
knows that etouffee is Heinz ketchup on a Twinkie with creamed okra and a
sparkler!

And yes, it WAS memorable and even with two Dixie Blackened Voodoos

Um.....that's them nekkid country singer babes what had the anti-war tattos
and ****, right? And you had TWO of them?! Wow.

I could afford it.

Whew! I hope, one day, sometime, to be able to excite the sort of
admiration you must surely take for granted.

Excellent food,

I hope to shout!

no stars.

No surprise, you only get those with the Campbell's chicken.

You're just unclear on the concept.

Which one is that? There are so many.

I mean,
if you ever showed up at a four star restaurant they'd slap a red vest
on you and put you to work parking cars. (Not that there's anything
wrong with parking cars ;-).

I've done worse than park cars. Oh, these days it might be a bit of a step
down.......economically. Socially? Well, I've attended claves with the
likes of Asadi, Jeff Miller, Big Dale, Petah, Axelrad, Cleveland, and The
Dark Lord of ROFF his own self......what've I got to lose?

So, anyway, this is what it was all about, huh? All those marches and
demonstrations......all that sign carrying and the liberal arts
education.....all that defending home and hearth with a seven iron....all
that rights of man ****.....all the political involvement.....it was all
about the right to go places the oil and tire companies tell you you should
like and fantasize about people who recognize you parking cars over cognac
and bananas Foster, huh?

Wolfgang
well, were it worth the trouble, pilgrim?
