Default Penn's questions

There's a Pennsylvania group that has a get together in the same area. Here's
their site for their get together. Lots of good information:

What are the waters that we fish? Small creek(s)? Big river?

Small creeks and Big streams. Some with dumb stocked fish and some with PhD
fish.

Any special flies that are a must?

We will probably hit a Sulphur hatch on the Penns. There are about 4 different
types of Sulphurs from cream to Orange. The fish often key on only one of
these types drys and my change what they are keying on after a short period of
time. There is also a size 14 yellow (canary-yellow) crane fly that at times
will get strikes while the fish are hiting Sulphurs.

Do I bring my own deck of cards or will you bring your marked ones? ;-)

I don't know snything about poker or hearts , but may be willing to learn.

Do I need to shop for food in advance or is there a place nearby that I can
get what I need?

Don't know. Haven't stayed with this group before. People in the U.S.
typically eat a small Breakfast compared to Europeans (Nothing resembling
Frustuk). Lunch is usually light also, with Supper (Dinner) being the big meal
(in size, but not variety).

Do you plan dinner in groups or each and everyone to himself?

Lobster dinner at the Milhjeim Hotel and the dinner at the Sportsman Club are
attended by most. Other meals depend on individual schedules and If someone is
puting together a stew, Bar B Que, or similar social eating event.

Whats lobster night? An excuse to get drunk?

A special menu that the Milheim Hotel puts on once a month featuring Lobster.
Very well attended by not only ROFF. Reservations are a must and must be made
early.

What will the climate be like?

Like Stockholm. Rain may effect fishing conditions where you will not be able
to fish the stream you would like, but an alternate stream of a lower priority
will be fishable.

Lou, is it OK if I accept your offer on a sleeping bag and mattress?

I planed on giving you the small bedroom. Don't know what beds are like so I'm
bringing air matresses and a couple of folding cots if the sofas are not that
good. I'll have a 40 degree Farenheit. goose down sleeping bag for you to
use.

I have a four piece rod Sage 490-4LL, will that cover my needs or do I bring
a heavier classed rod?

Sounds like the rod of choice for most attendees. I will have spare rods and
reels in case anyone breaks theirs plus a cheap pair of Red Ball stocking foot
waders in case some one ruins theirs.

What will we be fishing for? (Brown trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat or
what?)

Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout, stream bred and stocked; smart, and some dumb
ones (I hope).

Anyone wish to buy something from Sweden? Loop reel or anything like that?
