He should just tell us the truth.

On the way home from his friend's house (you know, the guy who had the flies
for two months) he got pulled over by a cop who asked him to help save a few
people from a burning building nearby. Well, they went and saved the
people, mostly elderly, and he forgot all about the midges which were in his
backpack in the back seat of the cop car.

He went down to the precinct to recover the backpack and learned that the
cop had been shot during a meth lab bust, and was so rattled that he'd
retired and moved to Costa Rica.

The flies are on the way from Costa Rica and Matt will send them out to us
when he gets them!
