Uh, Bob, are you saying that no one talked about Clinton's "sleaze"?
Maybe you forgot about Ken Starr, the special prosecutor, and all the
money he spent investigating the Clintons, and the (unsuccessful)
impeachment.
Well, only the Republicans talked about sleaze. The Devos, I mean
Demos, told us for 8 years that character didn't matter. So, I believed
them. That was a big change for me. Now, I have to change again.
Let's agree that both Clinton and Bush are draft dodgers, OK? Where
does that leave us?
First of all, Clinton is no longer the President, so can we please stop
talking about him?
Second, Bush is now the President. You agree that he's a draft dodger. I
think he was worse than that. He was actually AWOL from his draft-dodging.
Bush's probable opponent volunteered for extremely dangerous duty in
Viet Nam and came home with the Silver Star, Bronze Star with V, three
awards of the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Presidential Unit
Citation, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal,
Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
If Bush hadn't played dress-up on that aircraft carrier, and if he and
his surrogates didn't question the patriotism of people like John
McCain, Max Cleland, and John Kerry, I'd give him a pass on his military
record.
