I'm new to fly fishing but not to fishing for northern pike. Does
any one have some neat Pike flies. roadkill thanks
I think any Perch streamer type pattern in green, yellow, red and black
will work. dahn fish the clear rivers, near the mouth, on the Yukon
for pike. the fish are slow and slugish but quite large ( gaught a 40
incher at the mouth of the Tannana in 1970
I've heard others comment that Alaskan pike are not great fighters. I
wonder why? Is the water too warm? Are they so well fed that they're
lazy? Is it just that Alaskans know how a King salmon fights and
consider fish who stay within a hundred yards of the angler to be
sluggish?
