I have a 2000 Chevy 1500 Z71 and put from 4-5000 miles a month on it. When
I'm home for the weekends it's usually pulling the boat or my camper. I
currently have 186,000 miles and am still on the original brakes. Had the
plugs changed for the first time at 150,000 miles. It is due for times again
though, that'll make five sets of tires but I'm not going to complain 'cause
I haven't had to do anything else to the truck.

since a Chevy dealers auto mechanic told me the brake system wasn't
good enough to pull a boat. I laughed at first, then I noticed that he

was
serious. We went round and round for a few days about it, I mean 3 sets

of
warped rotors in under 6000 miles, that is problem, one towing a boat
shouldn't cause.

You are right - I gotta take my Z-71 in tomorrow for its first brake

job,
and
it only has 73,000 miles on it. My guess is over half of them are towing

my 19
foot Stratos or my 19 foot Javelin. Guess I just got a good one.
