A utility in the Northwest I use to consult with had a guy who used
potato guns to shoot lines accross roads. They technique is to get a
string accross a road, pull a larger adn larger rope until you got one
big enough line to pull a 477 mcm ACSR cable over I405.
Potato guns was one of several ways, there was model airplanes and
arrows among others.
