Default Lanyard question

If your talking about the quick release that keeps the thing from
hanging you when snag a tree limb ( on land or under water) use a
"cord loc" from REI etc.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. I took one of those cord
locks off an old jacket that I no longer use, but it doesn't seem to
work quite right. I used weedwacker line and the lock just doesn't
hold it securely enough to keep it from slipping just from the weight
of tools and such.

For hanging stuff I used the Berkley cross lock snaps, size 9X0B
For beads to seperate things try a craft store. Michales around here
had some real zorch beads.
I have not found a good source of tubular foam rubber to form padding
for your neck. I havne't needed it but the $30 lanyards have it.

I played around with using a padded sunglasses lanyard with rubber
tips, and that seems nice and comfortable. I just have to figure out
how to capture the cord (line) securely but have an emergency
breakaway.

I already had some big "coastlock" type snap swivels and hit the
craft shop for some wooden and plastic beads. Gave the wooden beads a
few coats of shellac and strung them up and the thing looks good.
(Just two different size/style wooden beads plus black plastic beads
as spacers at the snap swivels.)
