Last year a guy gave a nice presentation to our local flyfishing
club about hiking in to the Colorado River. I think they hiked
down "South Canyon". Great, secluded fishing. On the web I found
a reference to fishing at "South Canyon, Jackass, and Nankoweap".
I have no idea if all those are hike-in spots.

Never been there but it sounded like fishing up towards Glen Canyon
is either "crowded" right at the river access, or you need to rent
a jetboat/guide to take you upstream where it's more spread out.

He also mentioned that fish sizes on the Colorado have been steadily
falling, but he had lot's of pics of plenty of 14-16"ers, so bigger
must be not too uncommon.
