Lanyard question

You've gotta be kidding. A fanny pack is by far and away the most
inconvenient way to tote fishing stuff extant. With a vest or lanyard
all your tools have their own separate, easy to access locations.
With a fanny pack, everything's all jumbled up together and you end up
having to rummage through it like the woman in the checkout lane in
front of you digging through her purse in search of her checkbook.
This is exactly what I don't like about any of the pack
arrangements. Unless you have something with practically infinite
dividers and compartments, it's just a mess. And if you get something
with enough compartments and dividers, you're now talking about a
full-sized pack. :-}
If it came down to it, I'd prefer a little Army-surplus courier bag
I have. It can be slung over the shoulder and it has four internal
compartments plus two on the flap.
And missing from this discussion is the fact that a fanny pack is
not going to keep your gear dry (unless you follow Fortenberrys' First
Rule of Wading :-). A lanyard or vest keeps things up within easy
reach and dry (unless you are prone to taking a dunking).
