If your rod is rated for a #5 line and is is "rather slow" it should be fine
with a WF5F or even a WF4F. You can try a WF4F and a WF6F on it to see how
it feels.
We try to get people to cast rods before they buy them so they can get
something that matches their casting 'style/speed'.
