Sounds like a lot of fun. I enjoy TRs from "exotic" places, i.e.,
ones I'm unlikely ever to visit.

You never know, maybe one day.

I've noticed over the years that UK anglers seem most often to refer
to fish size in terms of weight, as opposed to us Yanks, who
generally talk inches. I can estimate length reasonably well, aided
by some ready references (tip of thumb to tip of outstretched

pinkie,
rod butt to hook keeper, rod butt to bottom of Sage logo, etc.), but
I'm real bad at guesstimating weights. To the quarter pound is well
beyond my powers. Do you just guess, based on experience, or do you
carry scales?

Both I can usually geuss it's weight going by the length and how
fat/thin it is. I also carry scales and weigh them now and again and
my guess is normally not too far out, usually only a couple of ozs. I
also measure them as you do but a 9 inch fish can weigh anything from
4 to 6 ozs so it isn't as accurate in visulising the fish. I suppose I
should really put both measurements down
