....Looked at the 'Croix again up there and still shuddered.

Oh? The St. Croix has loomed large in my imagination for a long time. Tell
more!

I'm supposed to go over to Wisconsin toward the end of this week for
some WFFB Clave. I do know I'm not stepping in a stream. I will be
bank fishing, or rather edge fishing, since everything I've seen,
including our local city creek (Minnehaha) has been way over the banks
and spreading. When I looked at the Tamarack ford, I didn't see any
fresh hoof marks, so folks must be using the foot / ATV trail bridges
for their crossing. I don't blame them. I could see it had been a
foot or two higher from bank wash that was left, but it was still very
high.

Interesting. We had much the same conditions down here a weeks or so ago.
Things have calmed consderably since then. All of the streams in the area
(only a few of which have trout in them.......and none of them much worth
the bother) are back within their banks

So, didn't fish, but did see the impressions of fish. Camped, but
sometimes didn't enjoy it and sometimes enjoyed it a lot. Oh, well.
I found I really like my cot, even though I'll not be able to use if
it there's apt to be rain. It bulges the edges of my tent, a sure way
to get wet. I'd not used it the second night, expecting some 'showers'
(not continual rain with downpour thunder bursts). I like my cot.
Maybe I'll just get yet another tent.

What you need is a tent to put your tent INSIDE of.........see Frank for
details.
