Default Sage 1201 reels

thanks, bill. appreciate your help.

yeah, the sage is $79 and comes with backing and line. i'll try to
find a tioga in the area, but i'm not sure there is one. don't think
they had them at the outfitter i visited, but there's an orvis dealer
and maybe he has them. in fact, since you sell orvis reels, how would
the sage reel stack up against the rocky mountain reel?

thanks again,
js

Hi js,

That Sage 'combo' reel is probably a good value for the dollar (under
$100USD?) but if you have a little more budget you might look at the Teton
'Tioga' standard #6 reel for $129USD. It is fully machined fom barstock 6061
alloy, anodized, has all SS parts and very solid.

i'm new to fly fishing and was looking to put together a rod and reel.
for temple fork's four-piece 9-foot, 6-wt rod, i was looking at the
sage 1201 combo reel. anyone have any experience with this reel? or if
someone has a better recommendation for a reel that can handle both
bass and trout, i'm all ears.

thanks much in advance,
js
