Yeh, well, I was getting a volume of "Lefty's Little Library of Fly
Fishing"
autographed. He opened the jacket and saw Bob Clouser's signature
there.
"Anybody got any White-Out?" Then he opened to the title page, and
found
he'd already signed it 3 years ago (okay, I forgot). Luckily, I had
another
volume with me. Hey, Lefty's a local, can't get rid of the guy :-)
Before I went to the Keys with Bruiser, Willi, and Charlie, I bought a
used copy of Fishing the Flats on Amazon. It was signed by Kreh and Sosin.
During my college and guiding years, I had a collection of autographed
books. When I was going overseas, in an effort at 'slimming down', I hauled
all my used books and albums off to a local bookbuyer. Later, I remembered
all those autographs I had acquired, and sadly thought how happy some SOB
will be when they buy some book and find it signed. Some were rather classy,
like I got Stephen King (who guest-taught an english class in college) to
autograph a first edition of Carrie.... I don't even want to think of what
that is worth now.
