I am going on vacation to Fredericton In New Brunswick in September/October.
Any thoughts or ideas for fly fishing. Coming from UK I won't be taking
any of my gear with me.

I don't know the first thing about fishing in New Brunswick but lack
of knowledge about a subject has never prevented me from giving my
views in the past so here goes.

The Miramichi is supposed to be the best Atlantic salmon river on this
continent and has from what I read some brook trout fishing in the
headwaters. The center of the river system is only about 50 miles from
Fredericton and some of the headwaters should be within 10-20 miles.

I'd suggest picking up a copy of Paul Marriner's River Journal -
Miramichi River. Lotsa nice photos & a bit lightweight but it will
give you an idea of the salmon fishing there & what to expect. It also
gives further references and other books to get.
Amazon UK sells it fairly cheap. Coch-y-Bonddu Books in Wales has
another title or two on the Miramichi.
You might try this fly shop and possibly they could give you
information about what you might need & where you could rent equipment
should you find yours not suitable.

And Google, Google, Google.
