Hi Richard, cheers for your advice. Looks very smart actually.
How many minutes to put up in reality? Chub quote under 2 minutes!
To pop it up took about 5mins first time but once you get the hang of the
locking mechanisms in the poles it becomes much easier. I would say that
after a few goes you can pop the whole twin skin thing up in around 2mins.
however, you still have to peg it down. I reckon they are just talking about
'popping the bivvy up'.
Do the double doors on the inner tent have windows in them?
No, although you have the 'mossy' door also which is obviously 'see
through'.
Also, how much space is there inside? I looked at a 1-man Easy Dome a few
weeks ago and it was really small inside compared to the 1-man Carp Plus,
because of the porch. There looked like there was only just about enough
room inside for a bedchair.
It is fairly big. In the one man the bed chair fits easily across the bivvy
with a bit of free space each end and ample in front. Although it will not
fit up the side (back to front) it will at an angle front to rear central
apex point. So you have this other option also. Either way around you have
plenty of free living space compared to most 1 man dome options about. You
also have the porch area on top of this .... there is a velcro in
groundsheet for the porch but I don't use this.
The zips are probably the smoothest I have come across and it also has a
velcro covered hole for feeding your bite alarm wires through and four
generous size pockets inside (2 each side).
Build quality (on mine anyway) is good. Other people on carpforum.co.uk who
have this bivvy speak well of this product also ..... and believe me they
certainly air an grievances they have about tackle etc.
HTH ...... Richard
