Just wind it straight on.

If you've never used one before choose a stiffish line about 25% stronger
than you would otherwise - you'll go back down after a while but it makes
initial handling slightly easier.

In general a cpin allows you to fish heavier and with greater control than a
fixed spool and, once you have mastered the reel, the fish don't notice.
